In the bustling city of Taichung, Taiwan, a luxurious residential space known as Urban Oasis stands as a testament to the harmonious fusion of art, architecture, and design. Created by renowned designer Idan Chiang, this three-bedroom apartment showcases a unique blend of neo-classical and modernist concepts, offering a serene retreat amidst the urban landscape.

Central to the design of Urban Oasis is the incorporation of captivating works of art by Taiwanese artist Ho Chen Hung, as well as iconic pieces from Yayoi Kusama and Peter Zimmerman. The entrance welcomes visitors with Ho's large circular piece, a vibrant abstract floral bloom that sets the tone for the entire space. Muted shades of gray marble and stone throughout the apartment allow the colorful artwork and museum-quality furnishings to take center stage, creating a visual feast for the senses.

What sets Urban Oasis apart is its meticulous attention to detail and the seamless integration of Western and Eastern elements. The apartment exudes elegance and tranquility, with a focus on Autumnal hues and a geometrical relationship between the works of art and the surrounding spaces. The result is a harmonious blend of cultures and aesthetics that radiates calmness and sophistication.

The realization of Urban Oasis involved the use of cutting-edge technology and high-end materials. The public spaces feature warm Autumn colors, with a corner tri-color globe pendant lamp, dark orange suede chairs, and a beige suede low-back sofa. A Western-style central island in the kitchen seamlessly transitions into an Asian-style cooking area, catering to the diverse culinary preferences of the residents. The dining room boasts a large central 10-seat table with grey suede seats, illuminated by a dazzling multi-sphere dandelion chandelier.

Spanning across 290m2, Urban Oasis encompasses an entryway vestibule, two living rooms, a front kitchen with dining/prep/island areas, a back kitchen, three bedrooms with en suites, a bathroom & laundry, and a balcony. Each space is thoughtfully designed to create a sense of flow and connection, allowing residents to move effortlessly from one area to another.

Creating a spacious yet cozy atmosphere was a challenge in the design of Urban Oasis. The expansive interior spaces needed to evoke a feeling of comfort and intimacy without compromising the openness of the public areas. Through careful selection of materials, colors, and lighting, Chiang successfully achieved a balance between elegance and warmth.

Urban Oasis is a testament to the power of art and design to transform living spaces into havens of beauty and tranquility. By seamlessly integrating contemporary artworks with luxurious furnishings and fixtures, Idan Chiang has created a masterpiece that transcends cultural boundaries and offers an unparalleled level of comfort and taste.
